What is Baptism?
Baptism is a public declaration of faith, symbolizing the believer's identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is an outward expression of an inward transformation, representing the washing away of sin and the start of a new life in Christ. In Romans 6:4, it says, "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." Baptism is also a command from Jesus, as seen in Matthew 28:19, where He instructs His followers, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." It is an essential step in the believer’s journey, publicly affirming their faith and commitment to live for Christ.

Why Get Baptized?
We should be baptized because it is a clear command from Jesus and a public declaration of our faith in Him. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus instructs His followers to be baptized as part of making disciples, demonstrating our obedience to Him.
Baptism symbolizes the cleansing of our sins and the beginning of a new life in Christ, as seen in Romans 6:4. It is an essential step in our spiritual journey, showing our commitment to live according to God's will and to identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

Who Should be Baptized?
Anyone who has made the personal decision to follow Jesus Christ should be baptized. In Acts 2:38, Peter encourages those who have repented and believed in Jesus to be baptized as a sign of their commitment to Him. Baptism is for believers who have accepted Christ as their Savior and want to publicly declare their faith. It is a step of obedience, marking the beginning of a new life in Christ, and is an important part of the Christian journey for all who choose to follow Him.
